Cryptopia Announces 9.4% of Holdings Stolen in Hack

Cryptopia, the now-infamous New Zealand cryptocurrency exchange has finally disclosed the total losses incurred from the recent hack. Their worst-case calculation amounts to 9.4% of their total holdings stolen. In a Tweet earlier this week, Cryptopia stated:

Cryptopia have been working with the New Zealand Police since the breach was discovered, and have only recently been granted access to enter their own premises again.

Currently, Cryptopia are transitioning wallets onto “new secure servers“. They are at about 24% progress at date of publication. They hope to re-enable the website in a “read only” state by Monday.
