UK’s FCA Opens Consultation on Cryptoassets Guidance

Yesterday the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have opened consultation for their policy document “Guidance on Cryptoassets“. They are seeking feedback from the public regarding how cryptoassets should be regulated in the UK. The consultation period is open until 5th April 2019, and the final policy statement due this summer.

Guidance on Cryptoassets seeks to specify where tokens are likely to be regulated, financial instruments, E-Money or payment services. As such it will have repercussions for institutions, professional traders, personal investors and retail consumers alike.
