The San Francisco asset management firm Bitwise, has submitted another application to the Security Exchange Commission (SEC), for a Bitcoin (BTC) Exchange Traded Fund (ETF).
The Bitwise Asset Management Bitcoin (BTC) ETF would track its own Bitcoin (BTC) Total Return Index, which would capture the total value of an investment in the decentralised asset, including any forks. The Bitwise ETF application listing is for the NYSE Arca (New York Stock Exchange Archipelago) that mainly trades options and stocks. The ETF is different from previous applications, as Bitwise, wants to rely on regulated third party custodians to hold the Bitcoin (BTC) backing ETF shares.
